System updates include, but are not limited to:
Overview
This release introduces a series of enhancements across reporting, checkout, online booking, and provider visibility in Aura. These updates focus on improving data clarity, reducing user confusion, aligning reporting logic across the platform, and creating a more consistent experience for both salon staff and clients.
1. Checkout & Payment Improvements (Coming Soon)
Credit Card Fee Handling & Payment Flow Improvements
We’ve improved the checkout experience when processing credit card payments, including manual entry scenarios.
Previously, selecting a credit card payment method would immediately apply the credit card processing fee to the ticket total—even if the payment was later canceled. This could leave the fee displayed on the screen and create confusion during checkout.
With this update:
- If no payment is completed, the system will automatically remove the credit card fee
- The ticket total will revert to its original amount when returning to the payment screen
- If a partial payment is completed (any payment type), the user is returned to the Select Payment Method screen
- The updated remaining balance is shown without any credit card fee applied
- Any prior fee indicator or adjusted total display is cleared
This ensures that fees are only applied when a successful payment is completed, improving accuracy and reducing checkout errors.
2. Purchase Order (PO) Reporting Enhancements
Expanded PO Summary Report with Discount Visibility
We’ve enhanced the PO Summary report to provide more complete visibility into inventory purchasing costs and discounts.
Previously, the report only displayed list price totals, which did not reflect discounts applied during purchasing and made it difficult to understand actual spend.
The updated PO Summary report now includes:
- List Price
- List Total
- Discount
- Total with Discount
This provides salons with clearer insight into purchasing behavior, actual costs, and inventory spend accuracy.
3. Clearer Appointment Request Confirmation Messaging
We’ve updated the confirmation messaging for requested appointments in Online Booking to create a clearer experience for clients.
Previously, clients could receive messaging that made it seem like additional booking action was needed after submitting a request, sometimes leading to confusion or duplicate appointment submissions.
The updated confirmation message now reads:
"Your appointment request has been received. You will receive a confirmation text once the salon has approved your request."
Why This Matters:
- Sets clearer expectations during the booking process
- Helps reduce duplicate appointment requests
- Minimizes unnecessary follow-up calls and questions for salons
This update provides clients with a more straightforward understanding of what happens after an appointment request is submitted.
4. Provider Dashboard & Payroll Detail Improvements
We’ve made updates to improve consistency between the Provider Dashboard and Payroll Report details view.
Previously, providers could see different information between these areas, and some payroll calculations — especially around service fees — were not always displayed the same way. This could create confusion and lead to extra questions for managers.
What’s New:
- The Provider Dashboard Details view now uses the same detailed layout as the Payroll Report
- Providers can view a more complete breakdown of commissions and payroll calculations
- Detail views can now be exported or printed as a PDF
Why This Matters:
- More consistent payroll information throughout Aura
- Improved visibility into commission and payroll details
- Fewer discrepancies and less time spent explaining calculations
These changes help create a clearer, more transparent payroll experience for both providers and managers.
5. New Client Report Enhancements
Improved Filtering and Client Attribution Clarity
We’ve enhanced the New Client report to address confusion between “new to provider” and “new to salon” client definitions.
Previously, filtering by employee could include clients who were new to a specific provider but not necessarily new to the salon, leading to inconsistent interpretation.
New Filters Added:
-
First Time Visit to Salon (Default)
View or filter clients whose appointment is their first paid visit to the salon overall.
-
First Time Visit to Provider:
View or filter clients whose appointment is their first paid visit with a specific provider, even if they have previously visited the salon.
Note: Clients who are new to the salon will also appear on the New to Specific Provider report if that visit is also their first visit with that provider.
These updates improve clarity, reduce reporting misinterpretation, and give salons more accurate segmentation of new client data.
6. Multi-Location Reporting Enhancements
Managing multiple locations just got easier!
We’ve updated supported reports to display the selected location directly in the report title, making it easier to identify, export, and share reporting data.
What Changed?
Previously, reports could be filtered by location, but downloaded or printed reports did not clearly show which location the data belonged to.
With this update:
- The selected location name now appears in the report title on supported reports
- If no location filter is selected, the report title will display “ALL”
- The Comparison Report will display the location when report data is available
Why This Matters
This improvement helps salons:
Quickly identify which location a report represents
Reduce confusion when exporting or sharing reports
Improve reporting workflows for multi-location businesses
